Ninho de Empresas do Conhecimento (English)

The Municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo has felt some difficulties in terms of employability, especially in what concerns younger people. Job opportunities are limited, which makes even harder to maintain these people here. Consequently and being aware of this situation, the Municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo materialized an important project named Ninho de Empresas do Conhecimento e Tecnologias da Informação, targeting the development of the region.

This structure is located in the previous house of magistrates and intends, essentially, to retain the residing youth of the municipality, through the promotion of job opportunities. Simultaneously this service aims to attract companies, managed by young people aged between 22 and 35, recently graduated or with specialized training in areas such as new technologies (information, web designers, call-centres, travel agencies, administrative services, among others). All the existing projects may be supported by the Figueira Finicia fund and/or by the Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional.

Its purpose is to give the necessary impulse to the creative capacity, initiative and entrepreneurship of the young residents, making them more autonomous in the creation of their own business. This structure, Ninho de Empresas do Conhecimento, works as a “launch platform” to encourage the younger inhabitants to make their low-cost investments, allowing them to enter the market. This project not only promotes new job opportunities for young people, as it still enables, the creation of their own businesses.

However, to put this project in practice, we challenge all the young people of the Municipality, graduated in new technologies, to be innovative and enterprising by creating and submitting their own project to the City Hall.
